Dedicated design and product innovation teams
Facom has always prided itself on being able to offer new tool designs which offer real benefits to users: allowing users to work more rapidly with improved safety and comfort, and offering tougher, better performing products.
Facom employs teams of staff whose sole concern is product design and innovation, with a research and development centre based in France, design bureaux located within each of its production sites and a European product design centre. Over 2300 new product items have been developed since 2007, representing a renewal of 1/3rd of the entire product range.
Majority of products manufactured in Europe
The majority of Facom products (over 2/3 of total production) are produced on the production sites of the StanleyBlack&Decker group, who own 27 tool manufacturing sites worldwide, with half of these in Europe. These are high-technology facilities that specialise in production techniques and types of tooling which are continually evolving in order to ensure optimised manufacturing processes.
Two thirds of FACOM tools come from countries in Europe
Many Facom products are manufactured in France: all tool trolleys and storage furniture are produced at Feuquières in the Somme region, all screwdrivers and socket spanners at Arbois in the Jura, all pliers at Laissey in Doubs, and so on...
Only a third of the products manufactured come from partnerships with other industrial organisations, and these have to demonstrate scrupulous compliance with specific Facom purchasing specifications and with the very strictest of requirements.
