The factory at Feuquières has specialised in panel-work and the manufacture of storage products for over 85 years: workshop trolleys, cases, boxes, benches and plastic modules. Its know-how enables it to offer professional users a range of quality product designed with durability, safety and productivity in mind. Its know-how also means that the Feuquières factory has become an integral part of the Stanley Works group, and remains competitive in the face of competition from Asia.
With a total workforce of 100 employees and a 26,000 m2 site, 11,000 m2 of which are under cover, the factory meets the requirements of all current quality standards: ISO 9001 (V.2000), ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001 (safety) in preparation.
Industrial Equipment
The factory is equipped with 3 'lean' production lines, including an automated line reserved for the manufacture of trolleys and one manual line dedicated to small and medium volume manufacture of various products. The manufacture of workshop furniture involves several steps which require genuine know-how. The manufacturing steps are stamping and cutting of sheet steel from 0.7 to 2.5 mm, bending, welding, powder technology painting (including prior degreasing of the panel), assembly and quality control.
The third line carries out thermoforming of over 400,000 plastic accessories per year for the storage of Facom tools in trolleys and cabinets.
A dedicated research and development team
An on-site research and development team made up of designers, industrial methods technicians as well as Facom Storage Product Managers are a fully integrated part of the factory's personnel. Being closer to production allows them to design and develop tools which are better suited to meet the needs of professionals, and to overcome manufacturing constraints.
Before being placed on the market, every model that is created, modified or which incorporates new components is subjected to a series of tests by the Quality Department in order to test and validate its performance. Workbenches, wheels, drawers etc. are all subjected to the harshest possible endurance tests reproducing conditions of extreme use before the products are approved for public use. Even packaging doesn't escape this process, ensuring that it can withstand extreme transportation conditions. This is a particularly essential step for FACOM who set the bar very high in terms of material requirements, so that they continue to ensure that their products are of the highest quality.
